NIALL CAMERON

Niall started table tennis on the kitchen table with his dad in Elgin in the North of Scotland at a young age.

His desire to play sport at an elite level, both nationally & Internationally, was evident from his teens. Niall represented Scotland at both athletics steeplechase & table tennis.

Athletics:

• Scottish junior champion in 1996 at 1500m steeplechase
• Ranked 2nd in Scotland at under 20 in the 5000m and 3 kilometre steeplechase

Table Tennis Career:

• Scottish junior champion in 1997
• Scottish men’s doubles champion 4 times with Gavin Rumgay
• Scottish mixed doubles champion twice
• British premier league champion in 2013
• UK grand prix champion 3 times
• First international in 1997 (commonwealth championships in Glasgow) aged 18.
• International senior career has spanned 22 years to date
• Most recent International cap was the commonwealth championships in India in 2019.
